CBC News recently reported Health Canada has been inundated with applications for licences to grow medical marijuana. The news source says there is an average of 25 new requests per week. When the new MMPR rules came into play in April, the marijuana industry was transformed into a competitive, commercial business.
Due to the new MMPR program, medical marijuana has dominated headlines in Canada. Previously, patients had three options: grow their own marijuana, buy it from Health Canada or designate a third party to grow it for them.
